In October of this year one of the world’s best symphonic orchestras will play in Liepaja Concert Hall – Leipzig Gewandhaus orchestra, which has a rich legacy with the new music director, distinguished conductor, winner of several Grammy awards Andris Nelsons as its Gewandhauskapellmeister. With the participation of the internationally recognised soprano Kristīne Opolais.
Programme – new composition of Andris Dzenītis “Māra”, compositions from operas of Pyotr Tchaikovsky “Eugene Onegin”, “The Oprichnik”, “The Queen of Spades” and Gustav Mahler Symphony No. 1.
Concert is organised as part of the concert series “Dzimuši Latvijā” devoted to the One Hundred Year Anniversary of Latvia.
