The 100th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia was Celebrated on 18 November

The Latvian Centenary was celebrated with a rich programme of events all weekend long in Riga, throughout Latvia, and in 37 countries around the world. Latvia received countless greetings and salutations from friends and allies, and the presidents of Estonia, Iceland, and Finland participated in Latvia’s Centenary celebrations.

Raimonds Pauls’ songs composed to the lyrics by American poet Gordon Pogoda, as well as compositions of the internationally renown project Rothko in Jazz will be performed at the London Jazz Festival, which will take place in the British capital from November 16 to 25.

From 11 – 20 November, Latvian Radio Choir and its artistic director and lead conductor Sigvards Kļava will go on a concert tour around the USA and Canada.

LNSO performing at major European venues for Latvia’s centenary

The Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) returns from Slovakia today, where they performed a concert at the Bratislava Music Festival. Their tour in honour of Latvia’s centenary continues this week with visits to renowned concert halls in France, Switzerland and Germany.
